“A world of geology”, this was the name given to the Valmalenco, internationally well-known for its priceless minerological heritage: over 260 of the 450 species of minerals to be found in the province of Sondrio, are actually present in the Valmalenco.

It has offered and continues to offer scholars and enthusiasts precious minerals (demantoide, perovskite, etc.), geological phenomena of special scientific importance, numerous trekking opportunities with carefully equipped geological parks, interesting mineral collections to visit in the valley museums and some unique, unforgettable experiences "in the heart of the territory", with guided tours of the quarries and mines.
