Bignami refuge hut 2,385 m - Gembrè 2,224 m - Val Poschiavina 2,220 m - Canciano Pass 2,503 m - Campagneda Pass 2,630 m - Cristina refuge hut 2,227 m
This is a considerably long stage of great natural interest, but without any great difficulties.
From the Bignami refuge hut, we cross the cirque with its glacial streams (bridges) as far as Gembrè.
From here, a wide mule track leads us to the Alpine mountain farms of the Val Poschiavina.
After a gentle ascent of this impressive valley, we come to some more challenging stretches, which rise to the passes.
Here we can appreciate a beautiful view over the Val Poschiavo and the summits of the Ortles-Cevedale and Adamello mountain ranges.
From the Campagneda Pass we descend towards the pastures of the same name.
On our way we come across a series of charming little lakes, before turning south-west towards Prabello in the direction of the Cristina Refuge Hut.
The route described follows an alternative stretch as far as Val Poschiavina.
The main route is of a similar length and duration and descends towards the Gera dam 2,100 m.
